So as some of you may know my Aunt came to visit yesterday and this morning she tested positive for covid. All negative here at the moment and hoping it stays that way. Also hoping that if I do get it that it won’t be too bad and have a negative impact on my caring role for my parents. Complete lack of support from governments and local authorities means there’s no support at hand and by the time an emergency care package is in place I could be well again.
Two years of avoiding the covid and we let our guard down for one afternoon to allow a family member to visit and now it’s basically a full lockdown here with daily testing for the next several days. Despite the media and government messaging, covid is far from over folks. So, please if you do have covid or come into contact with someone who later tests positive then please test and isolate and wear masks while you’re out and about when you’re negative. As a CEV household the consequences here could be dire and despite the government saying that anti-virals are widely available none of us here are actually eligible and none of us were eligible for the spring boosters either.
Thankfully unpaid carers in Wales still have access to free LFT testing kits, so we can test daily and hope for the best over the next several days.
